Implementing your plan
1. Make sure the programme is voluntary but encourage employees to take part in any workplace health activities.
2. A detailed plan should guide the implementation in terms of timing, content, strategies, monitoring and evaluation.
3. An important step at this stage is to communicate and promote the programme's initiatives, and then receive and respond to feedback.
4. It is a good idea to plan activities for 3 months at a time. This allows for evaluation of how successful the activities are and allows flexibility for change.
5. Have a variety of activities so that all members of the workplace can be included.
6. Different people have different needs. Make sure you take into account age and physical limitations, as well as cultural differences.
7. The programme needs to be continuously promoted to make sure that all employees are aware of it, the benefits and opportunities to participate.
8. The programme needs the involvement and support of not just senior management, but of employees, unions, and other key stakeholders in order to be successful.
