Welcome to Feetbeat

Feetbeat fun walking programme, 2009

This year's programme ended on Friday, 6th November and as this was Push Play day, it is hoped that you planned an event to celebrate your team's achievements.

314 teams from a range of Auckland workplaces/organisations and community groups have entered Feetbeat this year. From the feedback we received by way of team stories, people seemed to have a great time, including some teams who incorporated Feetbeat with other causes that were important to them.

In 2010, Feetbeat will have an interactive website, and you will be able to enter and monitor your team's progress on-line. Paper-based entry forms and team record sheets will still be available for those teams who do not have ready access to computers.

And it's never too early to start thinking about getting a team together ready for next year's Feetbeat.

Feetbeat encourages workplaces, organisations and community groups in the greater Auckland region to get teams of up to eight people together and participate in regular exercise. Teams set a goal of a distance they would like to reach by choosing a destination on the New Zealand map and work towards reaching or exceeding this distance. Maybe you could walk to Bluff and back!

Teams are encouraged to create unique and fun names and take photos of their achievements. There are prizes available for the best team name, photo and story. Although Feetbeat isn't intended to be competitive it can foster a fun interdepartmental rivalry and competition within your workplace/organisation.

If you're interested in reducing stress, getting fit, having fun, and you live in the greater Auckland region, why not start planning your team for next year now.
